The collection primarily consists of administrative records, financial records, publications, and publicity materials. Administrative records include meeting minutes (1940s-1970s), materials from the adult education institute and other synagogue programs, materials from the Talmud Torah (1950s-1960s), correspondence of Rabbi Maurice Schwartz, who served as rabbi from 1958-1984 and some correspondence and Jewish divorce cases from the Bronx Board of Rabbis, on which Rabbi Schwartz served. The financial records consist of files of invoices and statements, fundraising records, as well as numerous ledgers (1940s-1980s). Publications include the synagogue's newsletter, "The Young Israelite" (1940s-2004), as well as some publications of other Jewish organizations, especially the synagogue's parent body, the National Council of Young Israel. There are also journals from the synagogue's annual dinner, as well as numerous flyers and mailings describing various campaigns and programs. Additionally, the collection contains blueprints of the synagogue building, scrapbooks, various artifacts, and a small number of photographs. Also includes some records of Congregation Beth Jacob/Talmud Torah of East Bronx and the Parkchester-Unionport Jewish Community Council.
